HISTORY

  • VISIONAGRO LDA, has been founded in 2017 by 2 agricultural enthusiasts

  • We opted to locate our production in Central Portugal, Santarem region, 1 hour drive North from Lisbon

  • This region is the most intensive agricultural region in Portugal with abundance of high quality ground water, acid and sandy soils

  • Region is well developed to support farming companies and has abundance of human resources to support blueberry business

on our current production we are using many new innovative growing technics to achieve best results

FARM INFORMATION

  • VISIONAGRO LDA, has today totally 21 hectares

  • Our soils are mainly well drained sandy soils with pH 5-5.5 and 0.3 EC ground water

  • During the first 2 years we planted 24 000 plants with main varieties being BlueRibbon, Gupton and Ozarkblue on an area of 6 hectares

  • We have built different fields with different planting technologies (highbeds, pots) to understand impact on yield and quality

  • Currently we conduct production trials with 15 other varieties (Fall Creek, others) in order to decide which varieties should be planted in the next 2-3 years

  • Our target is to have 50 000 plants of selected varieties by 2022
